A walk down to the lake is well worth the steep climb back up! It's stocked with carp, tench, crucian carp and perch ranging from 1lb up to about 10lb and guests are very welcome to do a spot of fishing (with barbless hooks only please). The lake is fenced to stop the otters (who visit the adjacent stream) from eating the fish but the water is very deep and so do take care, especially with children. The fence also protects our ducks from Mr Fox and the Indian Runner and Muscovy ducks will always be pleased to see you. Take some time out to explore our grounds and enjoy our peaceful circular walk around the fields, along the lake and stream and through the woods where you'll hopefully see some wildlife, plenty of birds on the feeders and if you're really lucky the kingfisher who's started to visit!
